Non Healthcare Wastes

Infectious Non-Hazardous Waste (EWC 20 01 99)

  • - If infectious waste exits and is segregated in yellow bags/sharps boxes it is classed as infectious non-Hazardous clinical waste as this waste still requires special disposal.
  • - The waste is non-hazardous as waste has arisen from a non-healthcare environment
  • - Premises notification is not required and consignments notes are not required.

Non-Infectious Offensive Waste (EWC 20 01 99)

  • - If no infectious waste exists or has already been segregated but waste containing body fluids         exists then waste is treated as offensive waste
  • - Waste is collected in 'Tiger' yellow and black striped bags.
  • - This is non-Hazardous waste and does not require premises registration or consignment notes
